I have created essentially a sub-pocket within the key pocket. Looking at it from the key side, halfway between the bottom and the key zipper and at the far edge is about 15mm of a safety pin showing. This pocket holds another temporary modification I intend to make permanent. These and my modified paper clip reset pin sit on the gutted paracord loop. The side zipper pocket which should hold keys does so. (Anyone who knows where to get a card-sized fresnel lens genuinely > 4x, lemme know please!) In its main zipper compartment, I keep $20 in $1, $5 bills, and whatever loose coins I've been handed and haven't been home to dump either into my change jar or my recycled M&M Minis laundry quarter holders. In the ID pocket, I carry my bus pass, my three medical insurance cards :sigh:, and a fresnel magnifier. First, I've replaced the split ring with a loop of gutted paracord, tied off. Wallet #2 is also a Big Skinny, a Money Penny Coin holder, which I have slightly modified. I'll come back to the current generation compact sport wallet. In that wallet I carry cash, my bank card, ID, a Rosary Card (perfect for any practicing Catholic!), self-printed and laminated Just One Club Card, and I think all of THREE discount card type items that cannot be added to the JOCC: Pit rewards/gift card, Seattle's Best coffee, and a coupon for my next haircut. It's actually a hair "taller" than the current compact sport wallets you'll find at that link, because they've decided the new slightly shorter model is better and have discontinued the one I'm describing. I carry a leather version of the BigSkinny Sport Wallet. Click to expand. Two wallets? I carry THREE, sort of. Take note of that picture, there's no slot for a smart card.Īs it stands now, there is no way of connecting any kind of tuner device to computer. They also required smart cards to operate. Digital satellite on Ku-band required a much smaller dish, but since they were all specific to one vendor, you couldn't switch. North America only has clear channels on C-Band, which required a 15' satellite dish. (DVB-T/DVB-S) Because in Euro areas, DVB-S was actually the satellite standard, where as in North America, it was again, competing proprietary standards. In areas that have DTH (Digital satellite) services, those required expensive tuner boxes, not unlike cable boxes, and the device you've linked to there is actually one of those. It also didn't help that Windows XP MCE didn't support it in later versions. The last tuner device I had, in 2004, could only receive in-the-clear cable/antenna, which meant no ability to receive anything. In the US (and the US alone) cable card was mandated, thus making it impossible to produce a tuner in any shape to accept domestic cable services. What happened was that Analog TV was phased out. So what happened to PC TV cards? why did they die? I remember that back in 2007~2011 PC TV Cards EXPLODED in popularity (in Egypt) and everybody had them for their PCs to be able to run TV on their PCs, then PC TV cards started falling in popularity till they died in 2015, My question is, why are PC TV Cards dead now? the PC TV cards that are still being sold are REALLY expensive for what they are because they're now rare, And for people that don't know what PC TV Cards are, they are pretty much cards that go in PCI or AGP slots which then you connect to your satellite dish's cable then install a special type of program that uses the card to make you able to watch TV on your PC (e.g: Ulead TVR) turbocharged, supercharged and electrified. 2021 Volvo S60 Recharge T8 Polestar Engineered - 415hp/495tq 2.0L 4cyl. " Do what makes the experience better" - in regards to PCs and Life itself They can predict properties such as stability, boiling point, and conductivity. Using principles of physics, chemists can predict how atoms will react based upon the electron configuration. The electron configuration is the orbital description of the locations of the electrons in an unexcited atom. These atomic weights should be considered provisional since a new isotope with a longer half-life could be produced in the future. The IUPAC convention is to list the atomic weight of the longest-lived isotope in the periodic table. However, for man-made trans-uranium elements there is no "natural" abundance. For naturally-occurring elements, the atomic weight is calculated from averaging the weights of the natural abundances of the isotopes of that element. The average number of neutrons for an element can be found by subtracting the number of protons (atomic number) from the atomic mass.Ītomic weight for elements 93-118. Though individual atoms always have an integer number of atomic mass units, the atomic mass on the periodic table is stated as a decimal number because it is an average of the various isotopes of an element. The standard atomic weight is the average mass of an element in atomic mass units ("amu"). Click here for a list of the elements and their symbols. Typically, a symbol is the truncated name of the element or the truncated Latin name of the element. The atomic symbol is one or two letters chosen to represent an element ("H" for "hydrogen," etc.). The number of protons in an atom also determines the chemical behavior of the element. The number of protons in an atom is referred to as the atomic number of that element. For example carbon atoms have six protons, hydrogen atoms have one, and oxygen atoms have eight. The number of protons in an atom defines what element it is. When you open any file of an element in the periodic table, you will find a small table with some basic information about that element. Although vocabulary is not alway the most “fun” thing for students to do in class, I found that the students were asking when they could work on their vocabulary again. In particular, they enjoyed designing their slide deck and inserting the images into it. By giving the students choice in their slide deck, they really enjoyed completing the Frayer Models. However, it is an excellent example of how the slide deck should be completed, as well as the student choice in the activity. We have only just started this activity, so it does not contain all of the vocabulary words yet. The slide deck above is an example from one of my 7th grade students. Then, the students began working, either individually or in small groups, to fill in their slide deck. Overview The Frayer 4-Square Model Chart Papermakes vocabularyinstruction predictable and dynamic at the same time. I taught them how to use Google Slides, as well as how to insert pictures by using the “explore” feature. (See template below.)Īs a class, we discussed some of the vocabulary words from our most recent unit to determine which words needed to be included in our slide deck. I created a slide deck template of blank Frayer Models and shared them with my students on Google Classroom. The answer to my problem was simple – Google Slides. They need to continue to be exposed to some of the “old-school” strategies such as graphic organizers, but in a new and relevant way. What is the Frayer Model A Frayer Model is a particular type of graphic organizer that enables pupils to, determine or clarify the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary words viewed, heard, or read by the students. Students need to participate in activities that require them to make “make strategic use of digital media and visual displays of data to express information and enhance understanding” (CCSS). So…yes – I totally love Frayer Models!Īs I continue in my EdTech nerdiness, I wanted to find a way to take these graphic organizers and make them digital. By creating examples/illustrations, it gives visual representation to the word and helps the student retain the concept. By using it in a sentence, the student is able to show that they understand how that word can be used within the content being taught. By listing the facts/characteristics, it challenges the students to break down the word and discuss the meaning of the word past the simple definition. I love that these graphic organizers go beyond simply defining the word, but also requires them to list facts/characteristics, use in a sentence, and show examples and/or illustrations. In previous years, I have used Frayer Models to help students explore the vocabulary words in math. We know it is needed, we know that students need to understand certain vocabulary words, but how often do we really give students the time to explore these vocabulary words? As a math teacher, I think that we often forget the importance of vocabulary in the math classroom.
